Towards Child-Centred Justice as a System Level Paradigm Shift
This free webinar from the Children and Young People's Centre for Justice (CYCJ) explores child-centred justice as a fundamental system-level shift — moving beyond procedures that simply adapt for children, towards systems genuinely designed around children's rights, developmental needs and lived experience. Drawing on Scotland's Whole System Approach as a practice-informed case study, speakers will examine how child-centred justice principles can be operationalised across policing, prosecution, care and custody, and what lessons this holds for other jurisdictions. The panel brings together international expertise from the Council of Europe, University of Strathclyde, and leading practitioners in children's law and justice reform.
Who this is for:
- Community safety practitioners working with children and young people
- Youth justice workers and CSP staff
- Policymakers and researchers with an interest in children's rights and justice reform
