On Monday 24th March, we were delighted to run our annual conference in partnership with COSLA, to 30 in person and 47 online participants. The sunny day kicked off with a warm settle and welcome from Dave Shea, Chief Officer and Councillor Maureen Chalmers, Spokesperson for Community Wellbeing at COSLA, followed by presentations on:
1. Intergenerational Practice & Community Safety – Bella Kerr, Generations Working Together
2. Processions and Parades – Professor Dominic Bryan, Queens University Belfast
3. Hate Crime Strategy and Local Authority Toolkit – Lesley Weber, COSLA
4. Gypsy/Traveller Cultural Competency – Dominic Barr, COSLA and Virginia Francis MECOPP
5. The Thistle – Scotland and UK’s first Safer Drug Consumption Facility – Dr Saket Priyadarshi, Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services.
