Wales Safer Communities Network is hosting a free online seminar exploring knife-related harm among children and young people through a prevention-led, partnership-based lens. Originally delivered at the Safer Communities Wales conference in March, the session is being repeated for those who couldn't attend.

Speakers from policing, local government and the Violence Prevention and Reduction Unit (VPRU) will cover the strategic context for addressing knives in schools, the importance of early intervention and trauma-informed practice, and the newly developed Weapons in Schools and Educational Settings (WISES) Guidance — co-produced with schools, young people and safeguarding partners in Cardiff and now being rolled out across Wales.

• Community safety practitioners
• CSP staff and local authority colleagues
• Third sector workers in early intervention, violence reduction or schools-based programmes
• Anyone working with children and young people on issues of safety and harm.
